COSMIC MESSAGE
During the July 11, 2010, total solar eclipse, clouds parted just enough to reveal the event over Easter Island. In the foreground, the island's famous Moai statues stand on a beach, watching the shimmering solar corona. The dark part of the Moon's shadow, the umbra, defined the path of totality.
