COSMIC MESSAGE
The Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy to our Milky Way, sits 160,000 light-years away in Dorado. It is one of two such galaxies named after Ferdinand Magellan, whose crew observed them during the first circumnavigation of Earth. This galaxy is home to many star-forming regions and supernova remnants.
