COSMIC MESSAGE

Grand spiral galaxy NGC 1232, captured by one of the Very Large Telescopes, shows millions of bright stars and dark dust. These are caught in a gravitational swirl of spiral arms revolving around the center. Open clusters of bright blue stars are sprinkled along the arms, with dark lanes of dense interstellar dust between them. The galaxy is fascinating for both its visible and invisible components.
