COSMIC MESSAGE
During the December 4 solar eclipse, an Adelie penguin performed an 'Ecstatic Vocalization' in silhouette. This display is how male penguins claim territory and advertise their condition. This particular penguin lives at Cape Crozier, Antarctica, home to one of the largest Adelie penguin colonies. The eclipse was about 80 percent total from that location.
