These unusual features on Mercury are called hollows. They appear as slightly bluish, rounded depressions that are different from impact craters. Nothing similar has been observed on Earth's Moon or elsewhere in the Solar System. This image from the MESSENGER spacecraft shows a section of the Raditladi impact basin.
