Almost every object in this photograph is a galaxy, part of the Coma Cluster of Galaxies. This cluster is one of the densest known, containing thousands of galaxies, each with billions of stars. Light from the Coma Cluster takes hundreds of millions of years to reach us, even though it is relatively nearby.
