Dad Quiets Omicron Ceti

NASA APOD · Tamas Ladanyi
COSMIC MESSAGE

Omicron Ceti, or Mira, is a famous variable star that cycles from bright to dim over 11 months. The star is a red giant, about 300 light-years away in the constellation Cetus. This image is an April Fool's joke from APOD, but Mira is quite real. It was the first variable star ever discovered.
