COSMIC MESSAGE
This 3D view from lunar orbit shows the Apollo 11 lunar module, named "The Eagle," as it rose to meet the command module. Astronaut Michael Collins took the two photographs that form this anaglyph during the 1969 mission. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were aboard the ascent stage after their historic moonwalk. The smooth, dark area on the lunar surface is Mare Tranquillitatis.
