COSMIC MESSAGE
In 2010, the Eyjafjallajökull volcano in Iceland erupted, creating a large ash plume. This eruption wasn't unusually powerful, but it occurred under a glacier. The interaction of molten rock with ice and water created fine ash particles. The ash drifted across populated areas, causing significant disruption to air travel.
