NGC 604 is a giant stellar nursery in the nearby galaxy M33, where stars have been forming for about 3 million years. This Hubble Space Telescope image shows many young stars and the remnants of the gas cloud from which they formed. Some stars were so massive they have already exploded, leaving behind a chaotic environment.
