COSMIC MESSAGE
In 2007, the Moon passed in front of Saturn, an event called an occultation. This image captures Saturn emerging from behind the Moon, giving the illusion of a crescent Saturn. Such events are dramatic, especially when viewed through a telescope. They are not uncommon because the Moon and planets wander near the ecliptic plane.
