A new star, Nova Delphini 2013, appeared in the constellation Delphinus. This image shows its visible light spectrum, captured with a prism and telescope. The spectrum shows strong absorption lines, especially from hydrogen atoms. These lines help astronomers understand the nova's composition and behavior.
