COSMIC MESSAGE
The Sun emits light in nearly every color, but appears brightest in yellow-green. This spectrum, captured at the McMath-Pierce Solar Observatory, shows all the visible colors. Dark lines indicate where gases at or above the Sun's surface absorb specific wavelengths of light. It's still a mystery why some colors are missing from the Sun's light.
