COSMIC MESSAGE

The Large Magellanic Cloud is the largest satellite galaxy of our Milky Way, about 160,000 light-years away. Visible to the naked eye in the Southern Hemisphere, it spans about 20 times the width of the full Moon. This galaxy has a distinct bar structure and a single spiral arm, along with many regions where new stars are forming.
