NGC 7841: The Smoke Nebula in Frustriaus

NASA APOD · Göran Strand
COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 7841, also known as the Smoke Nebula, is not a real astronomical object. It is a photograph of rising smoke, created by flash photography. The apparent rich starfield is actually composed of water droplets sprayed from a plant mister. This image is a playful take on deep-sky astrophotography, located a few light-nanoseconds from Earth.
