A New Year's Crescent
NASA APOD · Jay Ouellet
COSMIC MESSAGE
This isn't the young crescent Moon, but Venus in a crescent phase. Captured from Quebec City, Canada, it was taken with a long telephoto lens. Venus is dropping lower into the evening twilight, growing larger in apparent size, and becoming a steadily thinner crescent.
