NGC 2683: Edge-On Spiral Galaxy

NASA APOD · Robert Gendler
COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 2683 is a spiral galaxy in the constellation Lynx, about 20 million light-years away. We see it nearly edge-on, making it difficult to tell if it has a bar across its center, like our Milky Way. This image combines data from the ground-based Subaru telescope and the space-based Hubble Space Telescope.
