Equinox on a Spinning Earth
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
Tomorrow is an equinox on Earth, when day and night are most nearly equal. At an equinox, Earth's terminator, the dividing line between day and night, becomes vertical and connects the north and south poles. This time-lapse video, captured by the Meteosat satellite in infrared from geosynchronous orbit, shows an entire year on Earth in twelve seconds. It demonstrates how the terminator shifts throughout the year.
