COSMIC MESSAGE

During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon turns a beautiful red as it passes through Earth's shadow. This image, taken from Barbados, shows the dimmed Moon next to the bright, bluish star Spica. Spica is the alpha star of the constellation Virgo, only about two degrees away from the Moon.
