The Seahorse of the Large Magellanic Cloud
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
What looks like a grazing seahorse is a pillar of smoky dust about 20 light-years long. This structure is in our neighboring Large Magellanic Cloud, near the Tarantula Nebula. The energetic nebula creates a star cluster, NGC 2074, whose center is just off the top of the image. This curious shape is sculpted by the radiation and winds from newly formed stars.
