A Double Eclipse of the Sun

This rare composite image shows a double eclipse of the Sun. On the same day as a total solar eclipse visible from parts of Earth, the International Space Station also transited the Sun. From a location that only saw a partial solar eclipse, the ISS appeared as a second object passing in front of the Sun. While ISS transits are brief, this specific alignment required careful planning to capture.
