Spiral galaxy ESO 137-001 hurtles through galaxy cluster Abell 3627, 220 million light-years away. This Hubble/Chandra composite image shows its gas and dust being stripped away. Ram pressure from the cluster's hot, tenuous intracluster medium overcomes the galaxy's gravity. This process leaves a long, blue tail of gas trailing behind the galaxy.
