On July 16, the Moon was new, its familiar nearside in shadow. From a million miles away, the Deep Space Climate Observatory, DSCOVR, captured this view of a Full Moon crossing in front of a Full Earth. The fully illuminated lunar hemisphere seen from DSCOVR is the less familiar farside. DSCOVR's EPIC camera provides this unique perspective from beyond the Moon's orbit.
