Pickering's Triangle in the Veil

These glowing filaments are part of the Veil Nebula, a supernova remnant in Cygnus. The original star exploded over 5,000 years ago, sending out shockwaves. Pickering's Triangle is one section of this expanding cloud of gas, still moving outwards into space.
