The Rosetta spacecraft imaged Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, showing dust and gas escaping from its nucleus. This double-lobed comet, though appearing bright, reflects only about four percent of visible light, making its surface as dark as coal. Rosetta spent ten years crossing the inner Solar System to reach and study this icy visitor.
