NASA APOD · CHART32 Team
COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 6357 is an expansive emission nebula in Scorpius, 6,500 light-years distant. Within it lies Pismis 24, a cluster containing some of the most massive stars known, nearly 100 times the Sun's mass. The nebula's bright central region also holds dusty pillars of molecular gas, likely hiding even more massive protostars from view.
