Venus and a thin crescent Moon rise together before the Sun in this time-lapse composite from the Teide Observatory. Venus is nearly full, at 96 percent illumination, and far from Earth in its orbit. The sequence of exposures also captures the Moon occulting Venus, briefly passing in front of it.
