NASA APOD · Bob Franke
COSMIC MESSAGE

Comet C/2014 S2 (PanSTARRS) shares this telescopic view with two Messier objects. The fading comet, about 18 light-minutes from Earth, sweeps through northern skies just below the Big Dipper. Also visible is the dusty, edge-on spiral galaxy Messier 108, located about 45 million light-years away. The Owl Nebula, Messier 97, also appears in the field of view.
