COSMIC MESSAGE
Japan's Akatsuki spacecraft, now orbiting Venus, captured this infrared image of the planet's night side. Akatsuki's mission is to help scientists understand why Venus is so different from Earth, despite similar origins. The spacecraft, despite passing its planned lifetime, continues to operate well and send back valuable data.
