COSMIC MESSAGE
The Running Chicken Nebula, IC 2944, is a star-forming region about 6,000 light-years away in Centaurus. This image, taken from a backyard observatory in Australia, shows gas and dust glowing in scientifically assigned colors. Two star clusters, the Pearl Cluster and Collinder 249, are also visible within the nebula.
