COSMIC MESSAGE

The Statue of Liberty nebula, NGC 3576, is a star-forming region called RCW 57. It contains dense knots of dark interstellar dust and bright stars that formed in the last few million years. Glowing hydrogen gas is ionized by these stars, and great loops of gas have been expelled by dying stars.
