Several glows illuminate the night. In the foreground, bioluminescent plankton glimmer blue in the surf. Above the horizon, Earth's atmosphere dims and holds a few clouds. Venus glows brightly near the image center, and a diagonal band of zodiacal light, scattered sunlight from dust in our solar system, crosses behind it.
