Simeis 147: Supernova Remnant

The intricate filaments of Simeis 147, also known as the Spaghetti Nebula, are what is left of a star that exploded. This supernova remnant is about 3,000 light-years away and covers nearly three degrees of the sky. It sits on the border of Taurus and Auriga, still expanding into space.
