COSMIC MESSAGE
On July 3rd, Earth reached aphelion, its farthest point from the Sun in its elliptical orbit. This happens during the southern hemisphere's winter. This aphelion sunrise from 2015 was captured in a time series composite against the skyline of Brisbane, Australia. Earth's seasons are determined by its axial tilt, not its distance from the Sun.
