NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
G79.29+0.46 is a rare luminous blue variable star, one of fewer than 100 known in our galaxy. These stars expel shells of gas, losing the mass of Jupiter in just 100 years. Shrouded in dust, the star itself is not visible in optical light, but this mapped-color infrared image shows it as green, surrounded by red shells.
