Cassini spent 13 years orbiting Saturn, and this is its final full-ring portrait. Three days before the probe plunged into Saturn's atmosphere, it flew behind the planet's night side. The Sun, just out of frame, cast Saturn's shadow across its rings. This view is only possible from a spacecraft, not from Earth.
