COSMIC MESSAGE

The Crab Nebula, also known as M1, is what remains of a star that exploded in 1054. Chinese astronomers recorded the event. Today, the cloud of debris is about 10 light-years across and is still expanding at over 1,000 kilometers per second. This image documents its expansion over the past decade.
