When Roses Aren't Red

COSMIC MESSAGE
The Rosette Nebula is a star-forming region about 5,000 light-years away in Monoceros. It's often shown in red, due to hydrogen emission. However, this image uses a different color palette, showing the nebula's complex structure in blue and gold. This allows us to see other elements at play, beyond just hydrogen.
