The Moon's waxing crescent passed through the Hyades star cluster on April 18. This telephoto image, a composite of multiple exposures, captures the bright Moon and the V-shaped cluster. The bright star Aldebaran anchors the Hyades, a nearby open cluster. The short exposure captures the lunar details, while longer exposures reveal the fainter stars.
