The Unusual Boulder at Tycho's Peak

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Tycho crater is one of the Moon's most prominent features, visible even to the unaided eye. At its center, near the peak, sits an unusual 120-meter boulder. The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) imaged this boulder at high resolution over a decade. Scientists hypothesize it was ejected during the impact that formed Tycho.
