COSMIC MESSAGE
This colorful skyscape was captured following Comet Wirtanen's closest approach to Earth. The comet's green coma is brought out by digital exposures, registered on its position below the Pleiades star cluster. These exposures also reveal blue starlight reflected by dust clouds surrounding the young Pleiades stars. The comet was just visible to the eye.
