Extraordinary Solar Halos
NASA APOD · Magnus Edback
COSMIC MESSAGE
This image captures an extraordinary display of solar halos near Utendal, Sweden, on December 14. These halos are formed by ice crystals in the atmosphere refracting and reflecting sunlight. While simple halos are common, this complex arrangement is a rare sight, occurring just before the December Solstice.
