COSMIC MESSAGE
AE Aurigae is known as the Flaming Star, and the surrounding nebula IC 405 is the Flaming Star Nebula. Despite the name and appearance, there is no actual fire. The 'flames' are mostly interstellar hydrogen, energized by the hot star AE Aurigae, causing it to glow. This region is a dramatic example of how starlight interacts with cosmic gas and dust.
