A dark cloud feature, informally called the Abyss, was imaged by NASA's Juno spacecraft during its pass around Jupiter. Surrounding cloud patterns show it at the center of a vortex. Dark features on Jupiter's atmosphere tend to run deeper than light features. The Abyss may be a deep hole, though this is still conjecture.
