Unusual Mountain Ahuna Mons on Asteroid Ceres
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
Ahuna Mons is the largest mountain on Ceres, the largest known asteroid in our Solar System. Unlike mountains on Earth, its slopes are not covered in old craters but rather young, vertical streaks. A new theory, based on gravity measurements, suggests that Ahuna Mons formed from a bubble of mud rising from deep within Ceres. This unique feature is unlike anything humanity has observed before.
