NASA APOD · NASA, JPL-Caltech, L. Rebull (SSC, Caltech); Optical Rollover: DSS, D. De Martin
COSMIC MESSAGE

The North America Nebula is forming stars, but thick dust usually hides these regions in visible light. The Spitzer Space Telescope, however, can see through the dust using infrared light. This infrared view reveals thousands of newly formed stars. The nebula is located in the constellation Cygnus.
