Night Sky Reflections from the World's Largest Mirror

NASA APOD · Jheison Huerta
COSMIC MESSAGE

The world's largest mirror is a salt lake in Bolivia, and it reflects the night sky. The central plane of our Milky Way Galaxy forms a grand arch across the image. The Large Magellanic Cloud, a neighboring galaxy, is also visible. Individual stars like Antares and Sirius, along with the planet Jupiter, shine brightly in this unique reflection.
