This wide field of view in Taurus shows the Crab Nebula, Messier 1, and a passing comet. The Crab Nebula is the remnant of a supernova observed in 1054, still expanding at high speed. M1 was the first object in Charles Messier's catalog of non-comets. The comet, likely a periodic visitor, appears as a faint fuzzy patch.
