The Sun rising in two pieces, partially eclipsed by the Moon, is an unusual sight. This dramatic sequence of six images, captured from Soltan Salt Lake in Iran, shows the event both directly and in reflection. The Earth's atmosphere made the Sun appear dimmer and redder near the horizon.
