This is an artist's impression of NGTS-10b, a gas giant orbiting its star every 18 hours. It is the closest and fastest-orbiting giant planet found so far. The planet is a little larger than Jupiter, but it orbits less than two stellar diameters from its parent star's surface. This close proximity means it is doomed to eventually spiral into its star.
